Alpe d'Huez

Alpe d'Huez is a famous cycling climb in the French Alps, known for its challenging switchbacks and appearances in the Tour de France. It is located near the town of Bourg d'Oisans and is 13.8 km long with an average gradient of 8.1%. The climb features 21 hairpin turns, each named after a past Tour de France winner, which make it one of the most iconic and challenging climbs in the world.

Alpe d'Huez has been a regular feature of the Tour de France since 1952 and is considered a defining stage of the race. The climb has seen many memorable moments in the history of the Tour, including famous victories by cyclists such as Fausto Coppi, Bernard Hinault, Marco Pantani, and Lance Armstrong.
