Podcast: The ride that saved Massimo

Today’s special episode is an interview, but not the sort we normally do. Our guest isn’t a pro cyclist or an engineer at a bike brand. Massimo Alpian is a husband, cyclist, outdoor industry PR professional, and a gay man. His is a story worth telling and worth listening to. Bikes might have saved his life, and they’ve defined it for years since.

There’s another motive behind this podcast. This is a call to action. Along with the folks at Manual for Speed and Cannondale (full disclosure: Massimo works at Cannondale), we’ve put together a grant dedicated to supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ crit racing. To help fund that grant we’ve got some merch, and if Massimo’s story strikes you, we need you to head over and pick some up.

Massimo has been instrumental in this whole project, and his story is proof of its importance.

Warning, this episode discusses suicide.
